- How much do you charge for your dolls? Keep in mind that dolls take a long time to make, so you're paying for both SUPPLIES (fabric, thread, accessories, etc) and LABOR (my actual time spent sewing). BASE PRICES mean that the price can go up depending on the intricacy of the design. All of these things will be discussed. + Base price for LARGE (~12/14in) dolls: $85 Which means this price can go up depending on the intricacy of the design. We can talk about it. Please note that LARGE dolls are more expensive than SMALL dolls because despite what may seem two inches, they are MUCH larger in size when comparing them. The size difference also allows for many more details than on a small doll, as well as more fabric used. + Base price for SMALL (~10in) dolls: $38 + Base price for KEYCHAIN (~4in) dolls: $15 Keychains will be made of simpler materials (felts, fleeces), around 4", and will have metal keychain rings. An example of keychains can be seen here, here, and here. Here is a size comparison of large, small and keychain. - I want to commission you! How do I do that? I do not take commissions through e-mail. I also do not take cosplay commissions (however, if it is a plush accessory for a cosplay, that's a different story!). I previously would take commissions from time to time on a journal post at my devART site. I am no longer running my business this way for a number of reasons. When I take commissions, there will be notice on my deviantART journal about it, but the purchase will be made through my Etsy store. Due to multiple issues with previous customers, I am expecting payment up front from now on for supplies and time. That way, the plush will also be completed more quickly. This system may change in the future. Keep in mind that I am a college student (art) at this point in time and my curriculum is very demanding during the fall and spring semesters. I travel with my sewing machine, but very limited fabrics, and usually will not take commissions during these times. - It says you aren't taking commissions. When are you opening up again? Well, that just means that I have a lot of things to do, and when I'm done, Right now, I'll be opening my commissions in Decemeber 2008. Please do not contact me asking me when commissions will be open - this is the only time range that I can give you. You can always find that sort of information at my journal when it is available. - I'm under 18/a minor. Can I still commission you? Yes, of course! Although, unless mom and dad let you spend your money freely without a problem, it might be a good idea to speak with them about it first. PARENTS: I'm sorry, but I can't be held responsible for a minor commissioning me without your consent to do so. I do not ask the age of the people commissioning me - it's not like I'm selling cigarettes/anything with legal age restrictions, so I technically do not have to. If your child pays with your money without your consent, this is something you must speak to THEM about, not to me. (I do not encourage this sort of behavior, but like I said, I can't be held responsible for it.) I will try to work things out with you in this situation. Also, your child will be getting a very unique collection plush that has been carefully made by the human hand, not some "rip-off toy". :) No need to worry, I do my best to make the plush worth the money. - I would like to commission a plush to be made for another person, is that okay? (Also applies to parent/child.) Certainly! :D There is no problem with this - just follow the regular commission-submission procedures. - I know you make anime/manga plush, but will you take requests for original characters? Yes, of course, PROVIDING that I have detailed drawings/screenshots/etc of the front and back of the character (as well as any other parts that may be important). I try to get the details as accurate as possible, and even though I would ask you about things in the middle of making the doll, it is much easier to be sure of things before-hand. - How long does it take you to complete a doll? Again, depending on difficulty, it may take longer. But a doll will generally take about 20 hours total, and this could be over a couple of days or a week or two. I get more done when I don't have to work and I can spend all day on a plush, obviously. - Is it possible for you to have the plush done for [event]? (Birthdays, cons, etc.) I will try my very, very best to have a plush done by the date you want it. Sometimes I can't make it happen, but I will try even if it means sending the plush out to you before I get the payment for it. (With that in mind, just remember that if you don't pay me, I know where you live and I own many daggers. Haha, kidding. Humor people, humor!! Although, I am aware of your address and I will send you...MANY...letters.) - Can I possibly "pick up" the doll as opposed to having you ship it to me? If I am attending a convention that you will be attending as well (ie., Otakon), then we can arrange a pick-up at a certain time and location. Also, if you live close to me - I live in Ocean County, New Jersey (you can ask for the specific location), then if you would like to pick it up you may. Just remember that if you're driving, you might spend just as much money on gas as you would for the shipping! I don't mind arranging this, though. :) As mentioned above, I am now selling my plush via Etsy. Accounts are free to sign up for, and a majority of the craft community and even deviantARTists use Etsy to sell items nowadays. It's safe and easy to make a purchase. 1. The slots are determined by the quantity being sold, and are on a first-come first-serve basis. Here's the basic form you MUST go by (once you buy a commission, you may submit this in a note to me on DA, a conversation on Etsy, or an email): ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Character Name: Series: Images: (Full front and back images of the character are usually amazing to have, but if you can't find those, put as many images with features, clothing shots, etc. as you can. I can look for them on my own too, but that would be troublesome for me if I don't know the character, and I may not get details right.) THESE MAY BE SPECIFIED AFTER YOU PURCHASE, AS PICTURES MAY TAKE LONGER TO FIND. Here is a good example of a sheet of references. Size preferred: Large doll, small doll, keychain doll. Etc: Any special things you would like added. Also, if you want to clear up the colors or anything else, that's cool. (Sometimes it's hard to tell!) This may also be specified after the original post. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2. If you don't get to buy a commission, but my waiting list is open, you may ask to be put on that. A note, though: as I am a college student, I do not have my sewing materials with me at school, and this may determine the wait time on the waiting list. Before I make your dolls I will re-confirm with you that you want them, of course. And, if you decide while you are still on the list that you would no longer like to be on it, please let me know and I will remove you. 3. Nothing too extravagant, please! I do like my fingers. Something requiring detailed work is fine, but obviously will take a little longer to make. SHIPPING: Small dolls: $6 Large dolls: $6 INTERNATIONAL: $15 Prices (aside from International) covers priority mailing with insurance. PAYMENT AND PAYMENT OPTIONS: + Money Order + Paypal PLEASE NOTE that because of previous circumstances (meaning, not getting paid for plush that I've made), I am expecting payment up front for my services. PLEASE ONLY PLACE AN ORDER IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT IT. Thank you. |
